AlertTown is a global platform for sharing information on important security events that threaten quality of life.

Once the app is installed, AlertTown keeps you informed of important security events that threaten your safety. As a user you can also report events that are used to alert other users of security threats. You have the ability to search the map and proactively view and respond to other reported events.

AlertTown can also keep a lookout around locations that are important to you (e.g. home, school etc.). You can mark the these locations within the app. AlertTown will keep you informed on events that occur around your important locations.

AlertTown can also keep you informed if any of your important contacts are in harms way. Once you connect with your important contacts, AlertTown will keep a lookout on your important contacts and notify you if any of your contacts are in harms way.

AlertTown only issue notifications for events once events are validated.


Some Techno-mumbo-jumbo:

AlertTown utilizes a crowdsourcing concept to collect information on security events. As information is collected, the data is scrubbed and validated using a proprietary algorithm that leverages various internal and external mediums. Maps are marked with circles around reported event based on event intensity and number of reports.

AlertTown uses Geofencing concepts to monitor users and events. As the fences intersect, alerts are issued for validated and high-severity events.

Validation is based on a proprietary algorithm and based on the user profile of the user that reports the event, frequency of reports, distance between reported events and time. Events stay alive and are expired on the map respectively based on their validity.
